D’Nyonya Penang review

Rating: 0 / 5 stars

Looks are deceiving, so don’t trust their appearance, and why is there always people there?

I seriously don’t get it! There always seems to be a wait outside yet the food is soooo below average. Maybe because its halal or was having an off day when I went idk?

If however you do go there,  its great for a GI cleanse, order the otak otak spring rolls – think pureed fish in a spring roll, it will engage your gag reflex for sure. And if you feel like a mouth full of flour try their salt and pepper squid, you’ll be reaching for their bitter and sickly sweet teh terik in a second! But wait there’s more, if you’ve got a cold then feel free to try their curry, its bland- but when sick everything is so you won’t even notice! The satay sits there as a dull appetiser,  and while the meat is passable it only works if you don’t like sauce on it as theirs is beyond redemption, its closer to water and peanuts then the mmmdelicious salty, sweet, crunchy and soft texture that you drool over. The chef also managed to do the impossible, and made beef rendang bland, what a let down, for the price your paying you’d think they’d be able to cough up the extra bucks to actually flavour the food, but alas its all too difficult for this little restaurant.

From the top left clockwise inedible salt and paper squid, bland curry, tasteless rending, and satay

In other words DON’T GO THERE! Its makes the suck list for sure.
